New York State Governor Hochul announces statewide indoor mask mandate

PLEASE READ BEFORE ENTERING THE EYER BUILDING FACILITY

Posted December 13, 2021

A statewide mask mandate for all indoor public places goes into effect on Monday December 13, 2021. This facility does not have a vaccine requirement in place. The mask mandate applies to both patrons and staff and will be in effect from Monday December 13, 2021 to January 15, 2022 after which the state will reevaluate.

The governor said the mandate will be enforced by local counties. Monroe County has already implemented a mask mandate for county workers, and visitors at county buildings as part of its recent State of Emergency declaration.

Governor Hochul said violators could face civil and criminal penalties, including a maximum fine of $1,000. Local health departments will be in charge of enforcing the requirements.
