East Rochester Police Department Information

The East Rochester Police Department operates as the Village’s Public Safety Department and serves the greater community of East Rochester 24 hours a day, 365 days each year providing around the clock protection for the citizens and property of the Village.

The ERPD consists of a Chief of Police, 2 Sergeants, 6 Full-Time Officers, 6 Part-Time Officers, and a Full-Time and Part-Time Clerk.

The ERPD also provides a School Resource Officer assigned to the East Rochester School District, as well as full and part-time Crossing Guards.

The East Rochester Police Department is a New York State Accredited Police Agency.

Administrative offices for the ERPD are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

According to a number of area sportscasters, it wasn’t supposed to happen that way—the East Rochester Bombers beating the Lyons Lions, 58-57.   While both basketball teams entered the game undefeated, Lyons was known as a powerhouse.  By looking at the history of the two teams, however, perhaps March 24, 1962, was destined to be different.  And what made the outcome of the contest all the more special was that it happened before a crowd estimated to be more than 10,000.
