A contractor for the Monroe County Water Authority will be in Town/Village tomorrow, August 22nd to begin a water main replacement project. They plan to start by replacing the water main on McKinley Street between Beechwood & Sycamore. This should be completed in around 4 days. They then plan on replacing the water main on the 500 block of West Avenue which should take another 4 days. They will be installing the new main on the north side of West Avenue which is the side of the street that everyone parks their vehicles on. Residents will have to find another area to park during the project. The Department of Public Works will be notifying the residents in order to provide them some warning. Superintendent Bill Marr has given the contractor permission to close West Avenue during the day for safety reasons. While we understand that the limited parking and closing of the road during the day may cause some residents an inconvenience, please know that the improvements are needed. If you have concerns please remember that this should only take 4 days and questions should be directed to the Water Authority by calling (585)442-2000.
